The 14th Outremer Cup took place between the 2nd and 5th June in La Grande Motte. Ten 40 to 55 foot Outremer took part and more than a 100 yachts went for a sail.
The Outremer Cup is an ideal opportunity for Outremer owners to get together with their family and friends, the yard staff and the agents for a series of friendly races.
Traditionally, this four-day event starts with the Atelier Cup. The first day is the time when the yard staff and their families challenge each other, enjoy the fruits of their labours and put the yachts they built to the test on the water. The weather did not join in the festivities and this first day saw only one race. On the other hand, in the evening, the ambiance was bright and festive in the evening during the Méchoui at the Yacht Club in La Grande Motte.
From the second day on, the owners raced against each other and with each other. This is a time for sharing a common passion: the Outremer catamarans. More than 100 people took to sea. Tactical races alternated with more technical coastal races and the results were really close. At the beginning of the first day, the first five yachts were only 20 minutes apart.
The winner, for the fourth time, was the famous“Wally Wallou”, an Outremer 45 fitted out for high performance and with a very experienced crew.
On Sunday, the prize giving ceremony took place in the Yacht Club of La Grande Motte.
We wish to thank our partners, the Yacht Club of La Grande Motte, the local representatives of the Fédération Française de voile and the Mairie of La Grande Motte for their invaluable help and also our technical support team.
And of course, we will see you all next year for the 15th edition.
